About Wholesale and Trade!

Wholesale and Trade (At this time it was known as Economy Plus Security) started in 1990 in a shed
behind Ken's Grandmothers house in Prince Street Clontarf.

In the first year they had to relocated 4 times and got larger and larger with more staff to handle demand.

Right from the start the staff have prided themselves on a quality product and service.

Eventually renamed to Wholesale and Trade moved to 18 Huntington St in a small shed at the back and soon they overtook the whole of 18 Huntington Street then expanded again to take over most of 20 Huntington.

In 2003 Wholesale and Trade relocated to 14 Noel St Clontarf, in the bigger and better premises. Since then the business has grown three times in size and the staff number upwards from 30.

Street and finally all of 22 Huntington Street as well!

This sort of growth can not be achieved without loyal and dedicated staff who put their heart and souls into the business.


Profile: Ken Ashurst

Ken grew up in Toowoomba and his grandparents purchased a property at Clontarf in 1966 which is how he was introduced to the area. He married someone locally. Proceeded to work in various industries and found his feet with Wholesale and Trade.

Profile: Faye Harris

30 Years (plus) experience in the industry – took 3 years for Ken to convince her to work for him as he had to entice her away from another company. Faye is invaluable to the business and runs the office like a ship in the Navy. Faye started for us on the factory floor and has worked her way up. She is self taught with the computer systems and accounts.
